Aneesha - Polymer Clay Art Doll

Texas artist, Melissa Jones has been sculpting dolls since the late 70's. Her dolls are in private collections across the U.S. and some other countries. Here is what she said about this doll: "This little girl is an example of the doll choosing its destiny! I had planned on having a 3-4 year old little girl with her head resting on her palms while she looked down at a bug. As I worked on her, she suddenly became a young lady instead who was daydreaming. I had to rethink her pose and other details as a result, but I was quite pleased with the way she turned out".

Aneesha is made from polymer clay over a wire armature. Her eyes are hand painted polymer clay 'glass'. Her hair is actual micro braids hair extensions (synthetic). Her comforter is hand tied. All her assorted items that are scattered around her quilt were also hand made by Melissa.
